Michael is the father of an internationally renowned muralist and has followed his career from the time 10 years ago when he was in high school riding around Brooklyn on his bike illegally pasting posters of his linoleum block prints to today as a muralist commissioned to work around the world.
Michael has traveled extensively to watch his son create murals in Rome, Montreal, Berlin, South Africa, Honolulu, Houston, Atlanta, Chicago, Washington DC, Baltimore, Miami, LA, San Francisco, Seattle, Greenville SC, Philadelphia, Kingston NY, Newark, Jersey City, Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan.
He has also observed others watch his artist son work and the dynamic interaction between the artist and those curious onlookers.
Michael lived in NYC for over 30 years and recently moved nearby to NJ and has watched the gentrification of a number of neighborhoods. He shares his son’s keen interest in promoting a dialogue between the art and the residents of any neighborhood where the mural exists.
He has come to know many of his son’s fellow artists, the curators, the bloggers, the followers, the museum directors, the festival organizers, the gallerists, the collectors and is grateful for all the respect and support that they have given to his son throughout his career.
Of course it goes without saying that he is proud of his son’s accomplishments (named to Forbes ’30 Under 30’ and ‘100 Leading Figures in Urban Art’ in Beyond the Street), his integrity, his passion, his work Herculean work ethic, his profound imagination and his expansive humanity.
